Tip Top Chocolate Dessert

You know how it is, you promised to knock up a dessert and then you forgot. We’ve all been there, when you need something super quick and easy to put together, this is the one for you.


  • 1 Packet Original Oreos (accidentally vegan)
  • 50g Sunflower Spread – we used Pure
  • 4Tablespoons Maple Syrup
  • 1 Pack Silken Tofu
  • 100g Dark Chocolate Montezuma or Green & Black’s work well
  • 1 teaspoon rose water (optional, it gives your mousse a fabulous Turkish delight kick)

A loose bottomed cake tin or a flan dish is ideal to make this in.


Gently heat the sunflower spread until just melted and remove from the heat. Crush the Oreos using a bag and rolling pin, or give them a whizz in a food processor. Combine the Oreos, melted sunflower spread and 2 tablespoons of the Maple syrup. Press down firmly into the base of your dish and chill for 10 minutes.

Whilst the base is chilling you can make the mousse. Melt the chocolate in a bain-marie, then blend with the silken tofu, the remaining maple syrup and rose water until fully combined. Pour over the biscuit base and smooth over. You can add rose petals or fruit to decorate. Voila!
